Homebuyers: Look for These 6 Weird Red Flags in Real Estate Listing Photos
If there are no wide shots of the exterior of the house, rest assured that it’s located on a busy road beside a liquor store in a crime zone.
I’ve been house hunting on real estate sites for a few years. Yeah, years. And after looking at thousands of photos, I’ve learned to spot six seemingly minor (weird, actually) details that could indicate major problems.
- The Floor Fan
It’s a fact: The floor fan is a necessary evil in a hot room.
Its mere presence suggests that the home’s central air conditioner isn’t efficient. Is it broken? Is there central AC? If not, can it be installed? Is all of the ductwork in place? Maybe the house pre-dates central air. If that’s the case, you’ll pay upwards of $5000 to have an HVAC system (including ductwork) installed. For the homebuyer who doesn’t care what the neighbors think, window units are an affordable option.
